The Past and Present
Ever since its founding in 1847, there has been a worshiping community in Drenthe. Some of our present members are direct descendants of those first immigrants from the Netherlands. Most have joined our congregation because of its Bible-based, family-friendly character. We are a diverse family of God—farmers and factory workers, technical and practical folk.
The central part of our building was constructed in 1875. As the community of Drenthe has always been defined by the presence of our church, we want to open our doors to every new resident in our growing area. Our emphasis is on youth and children’s ministries—Sunday School, boys (Cadets) and girls (GEMS) clubs, middle school (Teen Club) and high school youth. There is child care available at all of our services.
Our building is fully air-conditioned. We sponsor an outdoor Sunday evening service in the Drenthe Grove once per month in the summer. Visitors are always welcome.
